Sinovac Donate 30,000 doses of Healive to Ya’an, the Earthquake Disaster Area in Sichuan Province For Disease Control and Prevention

Sinovac has donated 30,000 doses of Healive in pre-filled syringe, the inactivated hepatitis A vaccine to Ya’an Health Bureau for the control and prevention of hepatitis A epidemic in the earthquake disaster areas. The vaccines arrived at Ya’an on May 4th.  

On April 20, 2013, the severe earthquake occurred in Ya’an city of Sichuan, which caused severe civilian casualties and property losses. And bad sanitary environment and intensive population resulted in the increasing risk on infectious disease epidemic. Meanwhile, in order to control the big epidemic situation after the natural disaster, local government has arranged the vaccination in Ya’an and Baoxing. Vaccines from Sinovac were injected to children from 18 months to 14 years with one shot.

 

 

Early in 2008 when the Wenchuan earthquake occurred, Sinovac had organized the donation, including Hepatitis A vaccine Healive and Hepatitis A&B vaccine Bilive, and also sent around 20 volunteers to assist the vaccination work. After the earthquake, Sinovac also donated equipments to help rebuild CDC laboratories in disaster areas.
